Buffalo State in Second Life

Posted by Dennis Reed, Jr. on July 2, 2007

Members of Buffalo State faculty and staff Second Life is an online 3-D community where users can interact through avatars. For the last few months, some Buffalo State faculty and staff members have been developing a campus in Second Life, and we are pleased to announce that it is now open to the public!

To visit the “SL” campus, register for a Second Life account (if necessary), and download and install the required software (note: you will not be able to do this on Butler Library computers). Once you are in Second Life, and have completed the orientation, go to SEARCH > GROUPS, search for SUNY Buffalo State Guests, and join the group. If after you join you cannot locate the Buffalo State region using your map, the coordinates are 128,127,25.

This short movie will show you some of what you can expect to find on the campus (QuickTime required). See you in-world! Visit our wiki for updates and more information.
