This new Web page brings together all your account logins (Banner, ANGEL, e-mail, and so forth), as well as up-to-the-minute information on computer labs on campus, printing, using the wireless network, software downloads, places to go for help, online tutorials, and much more! The site is intended for use by students, faculty, and staff.
Information Commons and the Butler Library Web Site
Some of the information that is on the new Information Commons site is also located on the library’s site, in the “Information Commons” section. We will leave that section on the library site for now, so if that is where you are used to finding things, don’t worry. However, in June 2009, we will be removing that section from the library page. This will allow us to keep all the technology-related things in one place (on the new Information Commons site), and the more properly library-related things (such as using the catalog and renewing books) in another place.
Please feel free to ask any questions, and we strongly encourage suggestions for the new Information Commons site!

As part of E.H. Butler’s “Go Green” initiatives, overdue book notices to students will now be distributed via email. Made possible through the new Banner system, emailed overdue notices will not only save trees– but cut down on print and paper costs as well (which means more money for other things– like books!). Please note that at this time, this service is for students only (not faculty or staff). Also, lost items, reserves, and faculty/staff overdue notices will still be distributed via snail mail. Feel free to leave any comments on other “Green” ideas you may have for the library.
