Our area’s youth are needed to serve as Change Leaders in addressing environmental challenges. Please consider attending the April 4th (beginning at 9am.) Environmental Congress at the Buffalo Museum of Science. Event organizers are seeking to hear from YOU to demonstrate that environmental issues ARE important to your generation. Your involvement in this process will have a measurable impact in the years to come!
The Community Foundation has convened a coalition called the Western New York Environmental Alliance (WNYEA). The goals of the alliance are to establish a shared agenda for our environment; identify priorities for focus and action; and strengthen the capacity of the region’s environmental organizations. The Community Foundation is hosting three environmental congresses to facilitate the development of the shared agenda. The date and topics for the 3rd Congress is shown below:
Saturday, April 4, 2009, Buffalo Museum of Science, Buffalo, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Implementation and Beginning Projects: Which issues are most important and how do we move forward?
Participants will gain insights into best practices for implementation strategies and collaboration; partake
in a discussion about strengths and limitations of proposals identified by task groups across issues; and help identify the most important issues for a shared agenda and immediate next steps.
Each congress is free, open to the public and includes light refreshments. To register, groups and individuals should contact Linda Montileone at (716) 852-2857 or LindaM@cfgb.org. This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
