This project is over. Thanks to everyone who participated. You can see their work here.
Vinyl is back! Please join us for this groove-y poetry project, sure to make your artistic heart skip a beat. Stop by Lisa’s office (BUTL 218D) to pick up a vinyl LP record of your choice. Then, turn the tables on “square” poetry by creating a poem on the vinyl album using the language and art from the album sleeve. Wax poetic! You can draw, paint, etch, paste, or collage on both sides of the album to create your revolution-ary work. Please include your name somewhere on the album. See Lisa for more information forresla@bufalostate.edu.
Completed albums will be presented as part of the April 16th “April Showers” open mic.

Dear Rooftop Poetry Club Members,
The Writer’s Compass literary group, a student run group and publication here on campus, is planning a Halloween event on October 30th to promote the fall issue. It will be a reading (poetry, prose) in the bookstore at 5 pm. We were wondering if any of your members would be interested in reading or at least attending our event.
Please check out our myspace page (we are in the process of developing a webpage) for more information on our publication.
If you know anyone who is interested in reading, they can contact me at this address or at write2live@peoplepc.com.
Thanks!
Christina Surdi

Since the library’s Rooftop Garden is undergoing renovations (like everything else around here), the poetry club has moved its summer reading and music series into the lobby until further notice.
If you see a performance in progress, please feel free to have a seat and enjoy! The readings are open to all–see below for a complete listing, and visit our Web page for podcasts of past readings.
If you wish to join the Rooftop Poetry Club, send an e-mail to Lisa Forrest with a brief bio, some of your poetry, and a photo if you have one, and we’ll put together a Web page for you (example).

(Butler 210; 4 pm) - Join us to hear humor writer Tom Waters and poet Sara Ries read, then stick around for an open mic afterward. Tom Waters will read from If They Can’t Take A Joke, his “fourth published collection of wickedly subversive and laugh out loud rants, essays, and celebrity interviews” (author’s quote). This event is open to all!
